You can’t go wrong choosing Casa de las Olas.

My husband and I have stayed in Casa de las Olas several times in the
last few years: just the two of us, the two of us along with our
daughter and her baby, and also with another couple.  We’ve stayed for
as few as 6 days and as long as a month.  The layout of each bedroom
being adjacent to a bathroom makes sharing the house work out great.
The house is always immaculate. Irania, the housekeeper, comes 3 times
a week which is just perfect.  Rik is a great neighbor/landlord –
always helpful, always willing to make your stay as pleasant as
possible.  I agree with all the other reviews so don’t want to repeat
the comments.  This is THE BEST BUY in Tamarindo.  You can’t go wrong
choosing Casa de las Olas. (Love ya’, Rik!)

Thanks for the hospitality, Rik!

“My wife and I recently stayed at Casa de las Olas for 2 weeks and had the most relaxing time at this wonderful house seconds away from Playa Tamarindo. Let the world spin on, but here you can just take it easy. The house is secluded, landscaped beautifully and immaculately maintained. Go surfing with the boards supplied with the house or snorkeling with the equipment that is there for you. The house is a short walk on the beach into town and near many restaurants. You can take a bike ride on the two beach cruiser bikes that stay at the house also. This was our 5th stay at Casa de las Olas and you can bet we will return again.”

Quiet, clean and very comfortable

“I stayed at Casa de Las Olas over New Year’s with my 2 teenage sons. It was quiet, clean and very comfortable. We did cook some using the well equipped kitchen rather than eat out all meals. The twin hammocks on the front porch got a lot of use and the beach was just steps away. Did not think it would be needed, but I did appreciate the air conditioning in the bedrooms at night. The gardener even changed a flat tire for me while my teenagers were snoozing!”

Wow, what a good place !!!

Great little place.  45 second walk to the beach.  Clean, comfortable, perfect!  The Hotel Captain Suizo, which is near by, was great to have lunch/dinner/drinks at!

“Our family of 5 stayed at Casa Las Olas for 5 days over the holidays. It was a perfect choice. The house is spacious, clean and has a well equipped kitchen and a lovely garden in front with 2 hammocks – a perfect place to start each morning. The walk to the beach was about 45 seconds. It is in a quieter part of town at the end of the beach but only 10-15 minutes walk to the hustle and bustle and bigger waves in the busier part of town if you prefer. We used the 2 surf boards provided which was great fun. Rik has a book full of recommendations and tips for activities and eating in the area which is helpful. The house is beautifully decorated and well maintained and we would stay here again if we return to Tamarindo.”

“We recently (Dec. 2011) stayed at Casa de las Olas in Tamarindo. The owner was a gracious host and gave great tips on dining throughout the area (we recommend Koi for all you can eat sushi) as well as other tips to make our trip that much better. When in a foreign country for your first time this comes in handy. The house itself is a beautiful building and you can tell a lot of TLC was put into this place with all the modern amenities you could want from a full kitchen, AC in the bedrooms, wi-fi, and cable TV. The house is located walking distance (across the street) from the ocean. The waves while we stayed there were small, but fun with the provided Soft top surfboards (great to teach the girls how to surf). The beach cruisers that are included were also a nice treat to travel throughout the town. It’s everything you could want at a bargain of a price! It was pure paradise for us. Massages on the beach (right across from the house) were a steal at $25/hour per person. On the last day I woke up early to catch some surf and treated to a viewing of howler monkeys in the trees across the street above the hotel. We highly recommend this place if you plan on visiting Tamarindo and want to feel right at home. It was comfy and relaxing for 5 of us and very convenient. We made use of the provided fridge, microwave, and coffee maker each day. We didn’t utilize the provided BBQ, but that was a nice option. There is a great grocery store not far from the house (5 min drive). The hammocks were also nice to layout on with a book and beer in hand. We also took advantage of having the owner’s maid do our laundry for a minimal fee, which made life easier before returning home. The only downside was that we stayed only a couple days and would of loved a couple more to fully explore this area of Costa Rica. But that only gives us a reason to return!”

“The pictures do not do this home any justice. We enjoyed the home, the location, and the short walk to the water. The place in front of the house offers drink and food service once ordered they will bring it to you on the beach. There is even a masseuse ready for you! Rik (the owner) was close by during our stay and knows the area well. He will make your stay more enjoyable if you are lucky enough to be there when he is. Dont pass this place up. It really is a great value and the giant surfboards pay for themselves, especially if you’ve never surfed!”
